Paper Bag Day

(12th July 2022)

” 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒑𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒂𝒈𝒔, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒊𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚.”

Every year on July 12th, World Paper Bag Day is observed to raise awareness about plastic pollution and encourage the use of environmentally friendly alternatives. Paper bags are easily recyclable, their use helps reducing plastic waste, which otherwise takes years to decompose and pollutes the environment.
As we all know, that recently Government of India has banned the use of plastic bags. To support this rule, it is important for us to take small steps, every day.
How about replacing the plastic bags we use for shopping and storage with paper or cloth bags? And why use plastic bags that are harmful to the environment when paper bags are readily available and we can make them ourselves?
Do you know we can make our own paper bags by reusing old newspapers, gift wraps, and packaging from products, we buy at the market?
It is critical for all of us to contribute as much to our environment as we can for the sake of our present and future generations.
To encourage our students to use paper bags instead of plastic bags, we at 𝑺𝑪𝑶𝑻𝑳𝑬 𝑯𝑰𝑮𝑯 𝑺𝑪𝑯𝑶𝑶𝑳 conducted 𝑷𝑨𝑷𝑬𝑹 𝑩𝑨𝑮 𝑴𝑨𝑲𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑨𝑪𝑻𝑰𝑽𝑰𝑻𝒀 for all the grades. The idea was to teach students how to make and decorate a paper bag out of newspapers, old papers and other coloured papers and bring them to use.
Here is a colorful and. creative glimpse of our paper bag making activity.
